Raw material selection
The purity requirement is high (usually ≥99.95%), and the content of impurities (such as iron, carbon, and oxygen) must be strictly controlled to avoid affecting high-temperature performance.
Forming process
Spinning: Suitable for thin-walled crucibles, the niobium plate is formed by rotating the mold and the pressure tool to fit the mold.
Deep drawing: The niobium sheet is stretched into a cup shape using a stamping device, which is suitable for mass production.
Welding process: For complex structures (such as crucibles with lids), electron beam welding or laser welding technology can be used to ensure the density of the weld.
Surface treatment
Pickling and passivation: Remove the oxide scale and form a protective oxide film.
Mechanical polishing: Reduce surface roughness and reduce impurity adsorption.
Coating treatment (optional): For example, applying yttrium oxide coating to enhance resistance to molten salt corrosion.
Heat treatment
Annealing eliminates processing stress and improves high-temperature strength and ductility.
