Tensile strength (UTS)
Typical value: 350-550 MPa (annealed state), can reach more than 800 MPa after strengthening treatment
Characteristics: The strength of niobium plate is significantly higher than titanium (UTS about 400-600 MPa), but lower than tantalum (UTS about 900 MPa), and can be increased by 15%-20% by adding alloying elements (such as 1% zirconium).
Application: Nuclear reactor pressure vessel (need to withstand 200 MPa internal pressure), aircraft engine combustion chamber (resistant to 1200°C high temperature and high pressure gas shock).
